A little movie logic.
Yoda advises Anakin Skywalker : "The fear of loss is a path to the dark side. . . attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is. . . train yourself to let go of everything you fear to loose."
I think fear drove me to be negative and to be jealous of my friend. I am going to learn to let go of what I fear to loose.
